A postcard is the oldest way of saying I was here and I thought about you. This is that, made from a day you already had, with the writing already done.

Why bother

Nobody has ever thrown away a postcard.

They end up on fridges, inside books, in the drawer with the passports. A photograph on a phone gets scrolled past. The same photograph on card stock gets kept for thirty years.

And there is the other thing. You will forget. Not the trip, the details. Who you were with. What the weather did. Why you queued that long for a mug you were only half sure about. Those go first, and they go quietly.

The app already holds all of it, because you wrote it down at the time without really meaning to. This just prints it.

You do not write this card. The place, the country, the date, who you were with and the story all come straight off the mug you already ticked. You pick the photo. That is the whole job.

How it works

Pick the dayIf more than one trip is attached, choose which. The date, the country and whoever you were with come with it.
Pick the photoIt uses the one already saved on that mug if there is one. If not, take it from your camera roll. Add a line on the back if you want. Most people do not need to.

Nothing is uploaded to make a card. It is drawn on your own phone, and it stays there. A digital card never leaves your device at all.

A printed one has to. When you buy a printed card the finished image goes to our printer, Prodigi, who print it and post it in plain packaging with our name on it and not theirs. Your image is deleted as soon as the order is placed, and it is never used for anything else, never shown to anyone, and never added to the mug catalogue.

Full resolution, 1800 by 1200, front and back. Print it yourself, send it as a message, set it as a wallpaper, put it in the family group chat. No postage and no waiting.

There is no email and no attachment to lose. Buy five and your account says five. Draw a card whenever you feel like it and the number goes down by one. Anything you have already made can be drawn again, any time, as many times as you want. A card you paid for in March is still there in November.

Before you buy a digital card: you get it immediately, and the moment it downloads the 14 day right to change your mind is gone. That is how digital goods work everywhere, and you will be asked to tick that you understand it at checkout. Nothing is pre-ticked.

Digital cards go to the UK, the United States and Canada at the moment. Not because we do not want your money elsewhere, but because selling a file into a country means understanding that country's tax rules first, and there is no threshold to sit under in most of them. Three we can explain beats forty we cannot.

A printed card has your own photograph on it, which makes it a personalised item. Personalised goods are not covered by the 14 day right to cancel, because nobody else can be sold a postcard of your holiday. Saying so here, before you pay, is what makes that fair rather than a surprise.

What we do instead, and it is better. There is a short window after you order and before it reaches the printer where we can stop it, so email straight away if you picked the wrong photo. And if a card arrives badly cropped, damaged or wrong, we reprint it at our cost and you do not send anything back. No argument, no form.

Printed cards go to UK addresses only at the moment, and the reason is postage rather than principle. Our printer works out of Britain, so a single card to America costs more to post than most people would sensibly pay for a postcard. We would rather say that than quietly charge you thirty pounds.

In the US and Canada, the digital card works today. Same photo, same story, same card, in your account the moment you buy it. And if you want a printed one posted to you, tell us where you are using the form at the bottom. Enough people in one country is how a printer in that country becomes worth setting up.

Straight into your account

Nothing is emailed and nothing is uploaded. The card is drawn on your own phone, so all we hold is the number you bought. Tap, draw, save. The image never touches our servers, which is also why it can never be lost, leaked or sat in a spam folder.

Printed · UK · a few days

Through the letterbox

The finished card goes to our printer, who print it and post it in plain packaging with our name on it, not theirs. Your image is deleted the moment the order is placed. It arrives with a blank envelope, so you can send it on to whoever was standing next to you.

Both are made from the same card. Same photo, same story, same layout. One is a file you keep and one is an object somebody else opens. Plenty of people will want both, and buying one does not use up the other.

Everything on this page started as somebody in a group saying they wished it existed. That is still how it works.

So: what would you actually buy? Not what would be nice to have. What would you put money on if it existed next month. Twenty-six people asked about fridge magnets without ever being prompted, and that is the only reason magnets are being costed at all.

Say no to something too. Knowing eleven people wanted a thing we then decided against is worth as much as knowing twenty wanted one we built.
